Barru – Bupati Barru Ir. H. Suardi Saleh, M.Si, membuka pertandingan sepak takraw di Alun-Alun Kab. Barru dalam rangka Hari Ulang Tahun Kabupaten Barru ke-62, Sabtu (29/2/2022).
Pertandingan sepak takrow ini di wakili oleh 7 Kecamatan dan telah dilakukan seleksi melalui pertandingan antar Kelurahan dan Desa, proses seleksi awal ini dilakukan untuk menghindari potensi kerumunan dan menjaga kepatuhan atas protokol kesehatan Covid-19.
Sebelum pertandingan dimulai, Bupati Suardi Saleh mengajak para peserta turnamen agar selalu berolah raga untuk meningkatkan imunitas tubuh guna mencegah penularan Covid-19 sembari pertegas komitmen Pemda dengan adakan Turnamen sepak takraw sebagai rangkaian peringatan hari Ulang Tahun Kabupaten Barru yang Ke-62 Tahun 2022, di laksanakan secara sederhana dan terbatas yang tidak melibatkan banyak orang.
“Saya berharap pada pertandingan ini melibatkan orang Barru asli yang menjadi pemain, karena cabang olah raga ini murni mencari bakat yang bakal mewakili Kabupaten Barru ke level lebih tinggi, berbeda dengan pertandingan sebelumnya seperti pertandingan bulu tangkis antar kepala SKPD dan Tennis Lapangan.” Harap Bupati Suardi Saleh.
Dirinya menambahkan, ada harapan besar bagi cabang olah raga sepak takraw ini karena sudah beberapa kali perwakilan Barru pernah juara di tingkat Provinsi, disamping itu ada wasit nasional kita yang berasal dari Kab. Barru, yaitu pak Risaldi yang beberapa waktu lalu menjadi wasit sepak takraw di Pra PON DKI Jakarta.
Pelaksanaan pertandingan ini ditandai dengan sepakan bola pertama oleh Bupati Barru Suardi Saleh, dilanjutkan pertandingan antara perwakilan dari Kecamatan Barru melawan Kecamatan Tanete Rilau.
Ketua Cabang Olah Raga Sepak Takraw Kabuapten Barru, Drs. Nasaruddin, M.Si, melaporkan. Kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dalam proses seleksi para pemuda kita untuk mewakili Kabupaten Barru.
“Yg terpenting adalah sertifikat, karena salah satu persyarataan dalam pertandingan yang lebih tinggi adalah penghargaan berupa sertifikat.” tandas Nasruddin yang juga Kadis Kependudukan dan Pencatatan Sipil ini.
