Barru – Sekretaris Daerah Dr. Ir. Abustan, M.Si membuka acara Monitoring terpadu percepatan stunting oleh TPPS (Tim Percepatan Penurunan Stunting) Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan di Kabupaten Barru, di aula Bappelitbangda pada hari kamis 15 Desember 2022.
Di laksanakan Acara tersebut untuk mengoptimalisasi percepatan penurunan stunting di seluruh Kabupaten/Kota termasuk Kabupaten Barru Sesuai dengan Peraturan Presiden Nomor 72 Tahun 2021 tentang Percepatan Penurunan Stunting dimana ditargetkan pada tahun 2024, prevelensi stunting menjadi 14 persen Se-Nasional sehingga untuk menata kelembagaan, mekanisme dan tata kerja percepatan penurunan stunting kecamatan, Lurah dan desa juga perlu aktif sehingga tim percepatan penurunan stunting bisa optimal.
Mengingatkan kembali stunting merupakan gagal tumbuh akibat kekurangan gizi kronis dan infeksi berulang pada periode 1000 hari pertama kehidupan (HPK), yaitu dari janin hingga anak berusia 23 bulan.
Dampak dari stunting adalah kemampuan kognitif berkurang, mudah sakit, fungsi tubuh yang tidak seimbang, postur tubuh tak maksimal saat dewasa, saat tua berisiko terkena penyakit berhubungan dengan pola makan dan mengakibatkan kerugian ekonomi.
Dalam Sambutannya Sekda Barru Dr. Ir. Abustan, M.Si menegaskan bahwa di tahun 2023, rencananya, perhatian tidak hanya fokus pada anak penderita stunting, tetapi juga pada pencegahan penambahan angka stunting. Menurutnya, mencegah bahaya stunting sejak dini akan membantu menghambat pertumbuhan angka stunting yang baru.
“Kita tidak boleh hanya fokus pada pemenuhan gizi bagi anak stunting saja, tetapi kita juga harus fokus pada munculnya angka stunting baru. Kita akan fokus pada pemenuhan gizi bagi ibu hamil makanya POKDARTI perlu mengawal semuanya,” tegasnya
Berbicara tentang permasalahan stunting ini juga berarti membahas bagaimana SDM kita di masa yang akan datang, ujar Sekda. Pola pikir kita harus menjangkau 10 hingga 20 tahun ke depan.
“Benar efeknya bukan hari ini, tetapi gerakan kita dalam menekan angka pertumbuhan stunting akan berefek pada indeks kualitas SDM Kabupaten Barru di masa depan. Ini persoalan kualitas SDM, bukan hal yang boleh disepelekan, harus selalu mendapat atensi lebih,” ungkapnya
Ketua Tim TPPS Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan Ir Muhammad Marhum Latif,MM sebelum menyampaikan inti sambutannya terlebih dahulu memperkenalkan tim dari berbagai bidang keilmuan yang ikut dalam rombongan. Kemudian melanjutkan inti kedatangannya di hadapan para peserta yang hadir
“Sesuai amanat perpres 72 tahun 2021 kita membentuk tim ini dengan mengoptimalkan percepatan penurunan stunting secara nasional 14% oleh karena itu di samping balita kami juga memaksimalkan vitamin penambah darah untuk anak gadis di sekolah-sekolah SeSulawesi Selatan”ungkapnya
Turut hadir Tim TPPS dari Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, Para Kepala OPD, USAID ERAT, Para Camat, Kepala KUA Kecamatan Barru, Kapus, Para Kades/Lurah.
